Traffic

I’m writing because last week I went to Velletri with my mother and there was a lot of traffic.

This photo shows the cars in the queue, but you don’t see  the smog which there is in the environment.

I think there are many cars in my town and there are only one or two reasons for this. First of all, people don’t use bicycles because Velletri isn’t a seaside city but it’s a hilly town, so the people are forced to take the car.

Another reason is that there aren’t buses enough so the people don’t use public transport.

We’ve definitely got a problem here. Maybe, some people aren’t worried about this, but I think we need to do something about this situation now if we want a town which is cleaner, without smog, and more attractive for tourists.ANDREA GIORDANI

I’m writing because in my town there is always too much traffic, especially in the morning or on Saturday afternoons, and it isn’t healthy for the people who go on foot.

I think there are one or two reasons for this. First of all, my peers are lazy and prefer to go to school by car instead of walking. Then, there aren’t enough buses and public transport, so when I must go far away I can’t take them. In addition to that, in Velletri people can’t use bicycles because it’s on a hill, and streets are often too narrow.

We’ve  definitely  got a problem here, and maybe some people never see out of their window. I think we have to use public transport and always pay them if we want more tourists and our town more visited.

I'm writing because I was walking to school with my firends this week, but the air was mostly polluted by exhaust gases of cars and we couldn't breath very well.

I think there are one or two reasons for this. There are too many cars in Velletri, and the situation is becoming unacceptable. People too often take the car only because they're lazy , but they don't know that in this way the air become more polluted, we need to encourage them to walk more. In addition to that, there aren't enough buses, and they often don't respect timetables, so people prefer to take cars and they don't use public transport. The last point is to build cycle paths which people can use to take more often bicycles.

We definitely got a problem here, and we need to do something about this situation if we want a cleaner and healthier city.
